I always tow in cruise control, unless in very hilly country. If i apply brakes or throttle cc is disengaged until i push up on the stalk to 'resume'. Also when going downhill, as the caravan brakes were applied when the adaptive cruise control caused the car to brake (surprisingly often which could be observed from the reflection of fhe brake lights on the front of the caravan in the dark) the car brakes released and it accelerated then braked causing the caravan to brake and so on until i disengaged the cruise.
